The Barnston Estate Sponsors the Farndon Soapbox Derby

Barnston Estate is an historic Cheshire estate with a strong focus today of promoting positive change.

The modern-day Estate is forward-thinking and continually strives to adapt, innovate and lead the way in best practice rural land management.

It covers 1,800 acres in and around the villages of Farndon, Churton and Hapsford and its interests extend across residential, commercial and retail properties, dairy farming, forestry and renewable energy. It also provides housing and indirect employment for over 250 people.

Last year, the Estate opened the new natural burial ground in Farndon, Monument Meadow. It replaces the burial ground at St Chad’s and offers a variety of funeral services.

It was also recognised for its environmental work by becoming a national finalist in the 2021 Rural Business Awards for ‘The Sustainability and Environmental Impact Award’.

Estate Owner and Manager Ed Barnston said: “We are delighted to be supporting the first Farndon Soapbox Derby, providing parking for the event and high-vis jackets for the stewards to wear. It promises to be a really exciting weekend which will also raise funds to support the brilliant work of the Hospice of the Good Shepherd.”
