OUR MISSION STATEMENT

At Farndon Soapbox Derby, we are more than just a thrilling race down a closed High Street - we are the heartbeat of our local communities of Farndon and Holt. Rooted in the spirit of togetherness and born out of lockdown, our Soapbox Derby is not merely just an event but a celebration & demonstration of what can be achieved by working together.

We pride ourselves on supporting and uplifting our local talents, businesses, and residents, creating an inclusive, vibrant, safe, fun space for everyone. Our commitment to the community goes way beyond the race; it's about fostering connections, building relationships, and creating lasting memories. It's about joining up the village communities and organisations. We believe in the power of collaboration, and our Soapbox Derby is a testament to the collective spirit that makes our communities unique. As we ‘race’ towards the future, we hold dear the values of unity, fun and shared experiences.

The Farndon Soapbox Derby is not just a thrilling ride – it embodies the joy of working together towards a common goal and sharing the fun of something very daft. This sense of enjoyment is shared with our sponsors, dedicated volunteers, and local businesses, ensuring that their contributions are not only valued but also an enriching experience. Join us on this exhilarating journey where every turn, every cheer, and every moment celebrates community, camaraderie, and the pure joy of coming together.

Farndon Soapbox Derby – where the whole community takes the driver's seat, and the thrill of the ride is shared by all."

Say HELLO to the SOAPY TEAM!

What we DO

We all have full time, demanding jobs and yet volunteer our time and our efforts to encourage and celebrate community fun and camaraderie, putting on a sensational event for YOU and OUR villages. We meet on a regular basis and are 110% committed to the success of the Farndon Soapbox Derby event.

We DON’T do

We don’t handle money at all!

The Hospice of the Good Shepherd do that for us as the main beneficiary of our wonderful charitable event. Every penny raised goes to HOGS with 10% being pumped back into the Farndon Soapbox Derby pot to support local incentives and worthy causes.

WHY we do it

Because we are very nice people!!!

After Covid and the impact of lockdown, many businesses, families and many individuals were negatively affected. Our purpose is to bring joy, celebration, community camaraderie and fun back with the Farndon Soapbox Derby 2023!

HOW we do it

We work closely with the Cheshire West and Chester Council to ensure that our fabulous event complies with all safety rules and regulations and do our best to keep you safe on the day. We interact with local businesses to ensure that the whole village has a part to play in ensuring a fabulous day is had by all.

TEAMWORK REALLY DOES MAKE THE DREAM WORK!

Meet the team of local volunteers and business owners behind the Farndon Soapbox Derby and find out more about how you can help to support this incredible community event, have a shed load of family fun AND raise much-needed funds for local village initiatives that are close to our hearts.
