THE FARNDON PRIMARY SCHOOL New Sensory Room!

The new Sensory Room at the Farndon Primary School was made possible with the help of the Farndon Soapbox Derby contributing a grand sum of £850 which went a long way towards creating this valuable space for the pupils!

Some of The Farndon Soapbox Derby organisers today visited The Farndon Primary School and were delighted to present a cheque for the grand sum of £850!  This generous contribution has gone a long way in helping the school complete the much-needed sensory room that benefits all pupils, but especially those with additional learning and emotional needs.

Some of the organisers of the Farndon Soapbox Derby present a cheque for £850 to The Farndon Primary School’s New Sensory Room.

Headteacher of the Farndon Primary School, Mr Andrew Walker said “Last year we were proud as a school to be a part of the Farndon Soapbox Derby, which raised valuable funds for a wonderful cause; the Hospice of the Good Shepherd. It was certainly a day to remember, seeing all the karts in Parc Ferme and all the drama at the start line just outside at the front of our school. And it's for this reason why we can't wait to take part again this year! We also wanted to extend our thanks to the organising committee of the Farndon Soapbox Derby who kindly donated some money to the school to help furnish a new sensory room for our pupils. It is now such a warm and welcoming safe space for our pupils in their time of need”.

This year, on Sunday the 17th of September, the Farndon Soapbox Derby is happening once again and has set a target to more than DOUBLE the amount raised last year.  The Farndon Soapbox Derby will continue to support the Hospice of the Good Shepherd as well as ensuring that 10% of the total amount raised is put towards continuing to support our local communities.

Already, over 34 racing kart teams have signed up to support this wonderful fun-packed fundraising event and the organising team are expecting an even bigger, even better extravaganza this year.

If you, your company or organisation would like to get involved to ensure this year’s event is a huge success, please get in touch with the organisers HERE. Email: getinvolved@farndonsoapboxderby.co.uk or visit the website for more information www.farndonsoapboxderby.co.uk
